EHS Manager responsible for leading Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) activities across multiple sites in Japan.
Ensures compliance with Japanese regulations and internal standards while supporting occupational health, workplace safety, environmental management, and continuous improvement initiatives.

■Key Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with applicable environmental, health, and safety regulations.
• Manage permits, inspections, reporting requirements, and relationships with regulatory authorities.
• Conduct risk assessments, incident investigations, and corrective/preventive actions.
• Oversee contractor safety, emergency response planning, and safety programs.
• Manage environmental activities including waste, chemical handling, emissions, and sustainability initiatives.
• Support ESG objectives and environmental performance monitoring.
• Coordinate employee health programs, medical examinations, stress check compliance, and occupational hygiene activities.
• Partner with occupational health professionals and external service providers.
• Maintain EHS management systems and support ISO-based frameworks where applicable.
• Lead audits, compliance reviews, documentation management, and process improvements.
• Deliver EHS training, emergency drills, and safety awareness programs.
• Prepare reports for management and collaborate with HR, legal, operations, and facilities teams.
• Participate in regional EHS initiatives and sharing of best practices.
• Support additional facility, EHS, and sustainability-related projects as required.

Requirements

■Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field
• 6+ years of EHS (Environmental, Health & Safety) experience
• Experience in laboratory, manufacturing, or corporate EHS environments
• Experience managing laboratory biosafety programs (BSL-2, BSL-3, or BSL-4)

■Preferred Qualifications

• Professional certifications such as Safety Officer, Hazardous Materials Handler, ISO 14001/45001 Lead Auditor, NEBOSH, or CSP
