They are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Technical Manager to join our growing team at our Japan office.
This role offers a unique opportunity to work closely with customers as a founding member of new development initiatives, particularly in the medical and healthcare domain, while coordinating closely with offshore delivery teams.

This role leads technical activities in early-stage development projects, including requirement analysis, proposal development, and cost estimation in collaboration with global teams.
It requires strong technical expertise, stakeholder communication, and a proactive approach to problem-solving, with occasional local travel for client engagement.
 ■Responsibilities

• Project Scoping & Proposal Development:
  • Collaborate with offshore development teams to prepare comprehensive project proposals, technical specifications, and effort estimates.
• Technical Leadership:
  • Understand and clearly explain the technical details of projects, ensuring alignment between customer expectations and their delivery capabilities.
• Coordination & Communication:
  • Serve as the primary liaison between customers and offshore development teams to facilitate smooth communication and project execution.
• Early Stage Contribution:
  • Make significant contributions as a core member of new development initiatives, influencing project direction and technical strategy.
• Customer Focused Engagement:
  • Work closely with customers on site to gather requirements, understand complex use cases, and define the scope of new development projects.
• Technical Value Creation:
  • Identify technical challenges during customer interactions and propose value added services and innovative solutions.

Requirements

■ Required

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
• 10+ years of hands-on experience in software development and/or technical project management
• Practical experience in at least one of the following:
  • Programming languages
  • Cloud technologies
  • AI
  • Web-based technologies
• Extensive experience in:
  • Customer-facing roles
  • Requirements analysis and solution design
  • Managing distributed and/or offshore teams
• Strong ability to understand and discuss technical architecture and system design
• Mandatory domain expertise in at least one of the following medical software areas:
  • PACS
  • Medical image viewers
  • Modality software
• Strong understanding of SDLC and project management methodologies
• Native-level Japanese language skill
• Business-level or higher English skill
