Responsibilities

Main responsibilities:

• Plan and implement strategies to develop new business and achieve GPW target by cooperating with his/her dept. manager and regional team.
• Make decisions to accept, modify or reject insurance applications after scrutiny of all the required studies regarding risk involved.
• Maintain and develop the distribution channels to constantly obtain submissions and renewal businesses.
• Generate underwriting profit and control L/R of his/her and team’s portfolio.
• Collaborate with the regional/global team and utilize the companies’s best practices for underwriting, product development, and marketing activities.
• Adequately handle queries from agencies, brokers and policy holders, and negotiate terms and conditions as necessary.

Requirements

Minimum requirements: 

• 5-years’ experience of underwriting and/or broking in in Property/Construction Lines
• Extensive knowledge in related insurance and reinsurance products, laws/regulations, and market practices where each business locates.
• Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills to build/keep good relationship with stakeholders.
• Proven ability to handle multi-national insurance programs.
• Excellent language ability in both Japanese and English is a must.
•  University graduate or above

Preferred qualifications:

• People management experience as a manager is a plus.
