Responsibilities
  • Responsible for shaping the pricing strategy for their in all key markets and leads the annual price increase budgeting, action planning and realization of price / margin increases.
  • Defines and implements pricing processes and tools across the company.
  • Leads global pricing center of excellence and analytics team.
  • Represents them in global pricing initiatives and reviews with their leadership, corporate staff and other business units.
  • Develops and deploys standard analytical frameworks and pricing KPIs and supports regional and country teams with implementation. Ensures consistency and integrity of SKU level cost and pricing data.
Pricing Strategy:
  • Defines the pricing strategy of them and relative price positioning in key markets / product lines.
  • Takes responsibility for defining the annual price increase budget and aligns countries / regions on key initiatives to improve margins.
  • Ensures competitor price monitoring is in place in all regions.
Pricing Process:
  • Defines their pricing process, policy and playbook including price setting methodology, distribution tiers, channel partner margins, DoA thresholds, discount/rebate policies, price waterfall and specific policies for spare parts.
Tools & Data:
  • Designs, calibrates and deploys pricing tools.
  • Ensures availability of structured pricing and SKU costing data and validates integrity.
Analytics:
  • Develops standard analytical frameworks and builds performance metrics reporting templates.
  • Provides leadership for a central price analytics team and supports regions/countries with targeted analytics.
  • Ensures insights are visualized and converted into actions.
  • Identifies margin enhancement opportunities.
  • Coordinates with procurement and finance to ensure transparency of cost inflation and economics (commodities, transport etc..) including trending/forecasting and drives action to offset.
Regional Support:
  • Supports selling regions and countries with training of local pricing teams, deployment of pricing tools, enforces DoA thresholds, shares best practices and supports customer communication with rationale and argumentation for pricing changes.
Requirements
  • At least 8-10 years of commercial management experience.
  • Strong knowledge in pricing processes and application with experience of leading a team through detailed pricing strategy development, planning, reporting and tracking
  • Strong people management skills include: effective planning, organizing and prioritization of tasks. Delegation, develop and motivate the team, critical and strategic thinking, good communication and presentation skills and ability to maintain high team spirit
  • Knowledge and experience partnering with business stakeholders and important customers / partners
  • Partnering with senior general management, sales, marketing, finance, procurement and IT professionals. Demonstrated ability to work with large cross-functional teams and matrix organizations
  • Master’s degree
  • 10 years or more management experience in leading or supporting corporate functions particularly in Sales/Marketing, Finance and Procurement
  • Consulting experience focused on pricing related projects would be beneficial
  • 5 years or more business partnership experience with substantial exposure to senior management.
