- Responsibilities
- The BU Controller is responsible for driving technical accounting compliance, financial and operational internal controls, process simplification, and operational excellence to deliver accurate actual financial reporting and analysis for the Japan business.
Main responsibilities:
Responsible for the preparation and analysis of accurate financial statements and disclosures based on actual results; consolidate, analyse and report financials in compliance with reporting requirements.
Responsible for the development and implementation of internal/SOX controls; monitor effectiveness of internal/SOX controls; primary contact for internal and external auditors.
Develop specialized depth and/or breadth of expertise in finance and internal controls; serves as best practice/quality resource; has knowledge and understanding of latest developments in finance and accounting under US GAAP and local GAAP; and contributes towards strategy and policy development, where required.
Skilled influencer, able to communicate complex messages to others; acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience; explains difficult or complex concepts; works to build consensus, developing persuasion skills required to influence others on topics within field.
Leads simplification and finance transformation projects; impacts approach on projects, programs and ways of working in the functional area or affected business organization; improves quality of work outputs and increases efficiency and effectiveness of own team.
Uses judgment to make decisions or solve problems that impact the function; brings new perspective on existing issues and practices; uses technical experience and expertise for data analysis to support recommendations; uses internal and limited external sources outside of own function to arrive at decisions.
