Responsibilities
Main responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage all aspects of accounts receivable, including accounting, customer receipt application, and account clearing.
  • Prepare and distribute account statements as required.
  • Collaborate with credit agencies to obtain and review credit reports.
  • Conduct comprehensive customer credit assessments and manage order release processes.
  • Prepare AR aging reports, follow up on and resolve outstanding items promptly.
  • Partner with the sales team to address and resolve long-outstanding receivables.
  • Provide guidance and occasional support to outsourcing partners for validating and processing payment invoices.
  • Assist in resolving payment invoice issues with outsourcing partners.
  • Oversee and support travel and entertainment expense (Concur) audits and processing.
  • Act as a subject matter expert on policies, including T&E, providing guidance to internal stakeholders.
  • Oversee all aspects of fixed asset accounting, including asset capitalization, depreciation, and disposals.
  • Ensure timely and accurate property tax filings.
  • Monitor and manage cash flow activities.
  • Analyze operating expenses and provide variance explanations.
  • Prepare timely and accurate financial managerial reports for leadership.
  • Perform month-end closing activities and account reconciliations.
  • Ensure strict adherence to company policies and procedures.
  • Undertake additional tasks and projects as assigned.
Requirements
Minimum requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field required.
  • Accounting certifications or relevant vocational training are a strong plus.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in accounting or finance roles, preferably in an international environment.
  • Hands-on experience with SAP or other major ERP platforms in an accounting or finance role.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles; familiarity with Japan and US GAAP is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; proven ability to collaborate across functions.
  • Effective problem-solving and influencing skills.
