Responsibilities

This position offers the opportunity to support business operations across the Asia-Pacific region from a legal and compliance perspective within a globally operating manufacturing company. The role involves partnering with business leaders, overseas legal teams, and external counsel while providing practical legal guidance in a fast-paced international environment.
Main responsibilities:

• Provide practical, business-oriented legal advice across a broad range of regional business matters
• Support compliance with antitrust/competition laws and other applicable regulations
• Provide legal support relating to procurement, manufacturing, occupational health and safety, security, insurance, and sustainability initiatives
• Collaborate with regional legal teams and external counsel to deliver consistent legal support
• Identify, assess, and mitigate legal risks
• Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements, including sales agreements, distributor agreements, supply agreements, and non-disclosure agreements (NDAs)
• Lead negotiations for complex commercial transactions and strategic projects
• Improve contract templates, policies, and legal processes
• Serve as a trusted legal advisor to senior management
• Conduct training and awareness activities on legal, regulatory, and ethical requirements
• Support the development and operation of compliance programs and internal controls
• Monitor regulatory developments and provide recommendations to management
• Support business operations across key Asia-Pacific markets, including Japan and Korea
• Partner closely with sales, finance, manufacturing, human resources, and administrative functions on legal and business risk matters
• Work independently while collaborating with cross-functional and global teams

Requirements

Minimum requirements:

• LL.B., J.D., or equivalent legal qualification
• Minimum 10 years of legal experience in an in-house legal department and/or reputable law firm
• Strong expertise in corporate law, commercial law, antitrust/competition law, and compliance
• Understanding of legal and regulatory frameworks applicable to international manufacturing, sales, and distribution businesses
• Experience providing practical legal advice within multinational organizations and managing external law firms across multiple jurisdictions
• Strong contract drafting, negotiation, and legal risk management skills
• Experience handling disputes, litigation, and regulatory matters
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and AI-enabled business tools
• Business-level Japanese
• Advanced English proficiency（TOEIC score of 850 or higher）
