Job details
- Company overview
- We are the Japan branch of a comprehensive manufacturer in the communications industry. Maintaining an integrated in-house system from development to production, we continue to operate a highly profitable business. Positioned as a crucial hub for technological development and production within our group, over one-third of the new electronic devices developed by our group are created in Japan. We place significant emphasis on research and development and capital investment, consistently allocating a portion of our revenue to these areas to foster a rich development environment. Our advanced technical capabilities span from the development and manufacturing of connectors, and the design and development of precision molds, to the development and design of ultra-high-speed automated robots, all within our company.
- Responsibilities
-
Main responsibilities:
- Provide practical support to group companies in various countries as a vision engineer, including hands-on assistance with inspection automation and equipment/system design.
- Reduce scrap by introducing 100% inspection and reduce labor by automating inspection processes that were previously performed manually.
- There is no requirement to develop detailed machine hardware or software; instead, make rapid proposals using commercially available equipment.
- However, maintain fundamental knowledge of optics and inspection logic, and be able to propose methodologies independently, including lighting design.
- In addition, promote automation using AI for visual/appearance inspections that have traditionally been difficult to automate.
- Further support and guidance for applied technologies, such as robot position control, by leveraging vision position recognition technology.
- Use vision to identify the orientation of items and control robot positioning.
- Again, this role does not require in-house system development; it involves quickly proposing solutions using off-the-shelf systems and devices.
- Although not a direct job responsibility, being able to create CAD drawings of the above equipment would broaden the scope of responsibilities.
- Provide practical support to group companies in various countries as a vision engineer, including hands-on assistance with inspection automation and equipment/system design.
- Requirements
-
Minimum requirements:
- Experience in planning and implementing automated vision inspection systems, including launching equipment using commercially available machine-vision.
- Ability to develop inspection methodologies and design vision inspection starting from the optical system, including lighting design and lens selection.
- Experience using vision inspection systems from three or more manufacturers.
- Hands-on experience in automating manual inspection processes and/or developing vision systems used as a “robot eye” (robot guidance/vision).
- Understanding of and practical experience with AI-based image analysis.
- Experience in hardware design and/or drafting using 3D CAD.
- Salary
- 10 - 15 million yen
- Location
- Kanagawa
