A preeminent global strategic communications advisory firm with more than 1,400 professionals worldwide. We support our clients navigate across audiences, platforms, and geographies to enhance and leverage their market position and reputation. Our Tokyo office provides global support on public relations support and communications advice in a wide variety of areas that include corporate profile raising, M&A situations, Investor Relations, crisis management as well as communications support for projects related to business transformation and ESG. We are looking for a Senior Associate (SA) who will support the team on various aspects of client communication strategy for assigned projects and retainers. Key requirements for the candidates are excellent communications skills, both verbal and written in Japanese and English. Some agencies or in-house media communication / IR experience is preferred. We will also consider journalists and people with experience working closely with strategic corporate agendas. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following.
Main responsibilities:

• Supports the team on day-to-day account handling and execution of strategy with direction from the senior team
• Respond to requests from the media and day-to-day client liaison
• Assists with company specific research to support pitching and business development.
• Production of documents including press releases, IR documents, strategic Power Point documents, analytical documents.
• Prepare translations (English to Japanese) for strategic documents

Requirements

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience of 3 years or more in business, preferably in a function related to communication.
• Proficient in written English and Japanese and willing to learn and grow in an English-speaking environment
• Strong communication skills with excellent presentation, interpersonal and organizational skills
• Works well in a team environment and proactive in developing team dynamics. Exhibits respect for others.
