Responsibilities
Main responsibilities:
  • Own general ledger processes in compliance with local GAAP and group accounting policies for Japan and APAC region.
  • Assist with the month-end close, schedules and records to ensure accuracy and timely reporting.
  • Perform monthly bank reconciliations and ensure timely resolution of discrepancies.
  • Process invoices and credit notes in timely and accurate manner including ensuring correct GL coding, game coding, fixed asset posting, expense category, JCT, etc.
  • Process staff expense claims and ensuring local Japan and APAC team members are using the correct expense category, game coding, etc.
  • Manage invoice approval and prepare payment to ensure timely payment and recording.
  • Vendor Management (New vendor set up, bank information, supplier reconciliations, checking terms and discounts, etc.)
  • Reconcile intercompany transactions and confirmations
  • Maintain the fixed assets register, including asset postings and monthly depreciation
  • Collaborate with the Accounts Payable, Procurement and T&E teams on reconciliations and discrepancy resolution
  • Partner with external tax advisors and internal global Tax team to manage tax compliance and reporting in Japan and APAC region including annual corporate income tax, consumption tax preparation and submission.
  • Provide support during external and internal audits.
  • Manage external (bank, tax, government authorities) and internal stakeholders’ inquiries.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to support business units with financial and accounting insights.
  • Contribute to process improvement and automation initiatives and help with ad-hoc projects.
Requirements
Minimum requirements:
  • 3+ years of accounting experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Experience in accounting and tax compliance in Japan and APAC region.
  • Proactive self-starter approach to recommend resolution.
  • Ability to work well with a team and autonomously at times.
  • Positive attitude to drive grow and be a contributor.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills in English and Japanese. Proficiency in another Asian language is a plus.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Experience with other financial system.
  • Experience with an ERP system is desirable. Oracle Fusion is a plus.
