Our Plant Director role at the Japan plant will have the opportunity to lead one of the company’s Air Filtration manufacturing facilities. This position is perfect for a leader dedicated to fostering team engagement by prioritizing safety and promoting continuous talent development. The ideal candidate will strive to become a trusted partner to our customers through exceptional performance in quality and delivery while optimizing costs and driving sustainable continuous improvement within the facility.

Main responsibilities:
  • Manages and directs manufacturing and Distribution activities in Japan including production scheduling, planning, material procurement, inventory management, manufacturing engineering, facilities/maintenance management, shop floor supervision, quality, EHS, Customer Service and Distribution (DC) activities.
  • Develops strategic plans related to manufacturing, supply chain and distribution capability and optimize the cost structure.
  • Leading both the Plant and Japan Supply Chain team to drive continues operational excellence and supply chain excellence, supporting Japan business growth.
  • Drive improvement on safety culture and safe work environment, employee engagement, sustainability and develop a strong operations and supply chain team to support business growth.
  • Identifies and develops opportunities for improving efficiency, effectiveness and cost structure of the relevant manufacturing and supply chain operations.
  • Establishes appropriate KPIs and manages improvement plans to retain and rebuild customer trust through excellent delivery and quality performance.
  • Partners with Global and Regional Operations to deploy standard processes.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Requirements
Minimum requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field, engineering degree or/and Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years manufacturing industrial experience and 5 year + in operations leadership position (i.e. Operations/Plant Director) and/or general management experience, prefer experience in automobile manufacturing industrial or relevant manufacturing field.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal in English, Japanese.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and use of the problem-solving tools.
  • Experience in project management.
  • Lean, six-sigma process thinking.
Preferred qualifications:
  • Manages the manufacturing and supply chain operations function – staff will report directly to this position or through supervisory staff.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills including the ability to influence people within all levels of the organization.
  • We are open to Applicants who are willing to relocate to Gunma, Japan with the required Japanese language skills.
