Responsibilities
Main responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with local business partners in enabling the sourcing of transportation services in a compliant manner which provides alignment with the country transportation strategy and operational value adds (eg. resilience, cost management, supportive of growth aspirations).
  • Execute a sourcing process which delivers compliance and value, utilises digital tools and works within the agreed timelines. Prepare and lead supplier negotiations at local level.
  • Experienced professional who can bring strategic thinking, commercial acumen and a collaborative mindset to drive value and deliver high-quality outcomes
  • Knowledge of transportation and transportation design and solutioning (road preferred but knowledge of air and maritime is highly regarded)
  • Ability to manage the challenges of stakeholder relationship management (internal and external), time management and operational complexity (rates, vehicles, lanes)
  • Work professionally and independently with general supervision
  • Identification of strategic sourcing opportunities and advising on procurement strategy, risk, efficiency, negotiations, terms, conditions, and pricing
  • Professionally execute a compliant sourcing process to support business initiatives
  • Support and influence the business to identify preferred supplier requirements (strategic and operational)
  • Through the sourcing process create and drive value generation for business partners
  • Conduct data analysis and reporting. Support activities such as supplier risk assessments and evaluating suppliers based on KPIs
  • Provide market research and business intelligence and understand there impact
  • Manage a pipeline of sourcing projects and undertake multiple sourcing projects simultaneously
  • Maintain healthy relationships with industry leading suppliers
  • Maintain CRM styled records on projects, steps undertaken in sourcing process, value generation and outcomes
  • Look for continuous improvement opportunities, challenge the status quo, drive innovation and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
  • Contribute to the learning and development of the category by sharing case studies and innovations within the region
  • Operate closely with senior leaders and business partners to undertake best practice procurement processes, ensure robust governance, and lead end-to-end procurement activities
  • Build relationships and understand internal business partner interests and concerns
  • Effectively manage vendors and provide explanations on contracts, operational requirements, policies and practices
  • Participate in country, regional and global category events
  • Address task-related issues appropriately with business partners and vendors
  • Whilst the role is one of an individual contributor without direct responsibility for leading others an important aspect of the role is to:
  • Effectively manage internal business partners through the procurement process to ensure business requirements are met.
  • Effectively manage vendors to ensure the best outcomes for the business
Requirements
Minimum requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree (Logistics / Supply Chain, Business, Commercial, Finance) or equivalent experience/qualification
  • Minimum 5 years strategic procurement experience
  • Transportation Industry experience highly regarded
  • Customer service focused
  • Collaboration and senior stakeholder influencing skills
  • Results orientated
