Our client is a sports management company operating professional football teams in Japan. In recent years, it became part of a global sports group known for its involvement in various international football clubs and motorsports. The company focuses on fostering community engagement through sports and aims to develop competitive teams within the domestic league system.
Responsibilities
Seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Operations to oversee and optimize the club’s operational framework, with a particular focus on infrastructure projects. This role will be instrumental in ensuring efficient stadium and training ground management, and seamless alignment with the corporate owner's global standards.
Main responsibilities:
  • Infrastructure & Facilities Management
    • Lead and oversee the planning, development, and execution of key infrastructure projects (stadium, training facilities, club headquarters, etc.).
    • Manage relationships with architects, contractors, and local authorities to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in line with regulatory requirements.
    • Oversee matchday operations, ensuring smooth execution of all logistics, security, and fan experience elements.
  • Coordination with corporate owner HQ
    • Serve as the primary liaison between the team and corporate's Global Construction Team.
    • Align local infrastructure developments with the company's global strategies and ensure consistency in design, branding, and operational standards.
    • Regularly report on project progress, key milestones, and budget management to corporate owner HQ.
  • Operational Leadership & Club Administration
    • Develop and oversee club-wide operational policies to enhance efficiency and compliance.
    • Built and lead a multidisciplinary operations team, ensuring high standards in facility management, security, IT infrastructure, and logistics.
    • Collaborate with the Sporting Department to ensure facilities and operational processes support the first team and academy’s performance objectives.
Requirements
Minimum requirements:
  • Proven experience in operations management, infrastructure projects, or stadium/facilities development within a professional sports environment.
  • Strong knowledge of construction management, project planning, and budgeting.
  • Familiarity with Japanese regulatory frameworks for infrastructure projects is highly desirable.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Strong language skills in English & Japanese are essential for efficient coordination with local and global stakeholders.
