Responsibilities

As a Software Engineer in the Core Banking team, you will be responsible for building the most reliable and agile banking systems in the industry, leveraging Mambu - the world's leading cloud banking platform for neobanks and challenger banks. Our goal is to shape the future of digital banking in Japan, making it easier and more user-friendly than ever before.
Main responsibilities:

• Acquire domain knowledge - Acquire knowledge of deposits, loans, clearing and settlement, basic accounting, domestic foreign exchange, and Zengin Net in digital banking.
• Actively engage with the product owner to define requirements
• Develop, test, and deploy code that meets static code analysis, software composition analysis, SAST, and DAST non-functional quality gates while maintaining numerical accuracy
• Design and build high-performance, scalable, API-centric microservices
• Pursue automated testing and continuous improvement, including API testing
• Responsible for the entire software development lifecycle

Requirements

Minimum requirements:

• Practical experience using Java, Kotlin, or Spring Boot (approximately 5 years)
• Practical experience using SQL, Apache Kafka, etc.
• Experience with test creation and test automation
• Experience working with relational and non-relational databases including transaction management, query optimization and schema design.
• Practical experience in microservices architecture and API design that takes into account scalability, maintainability, and supportability
• Experience with sufficient domain knowledge and development experience (not necessarily in the financial industry)
• Understanding of CI/CD concepts and practices.
• Experience developing cloud-native applications in major cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, and GCP.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience.
• Japanese: Business level
• English: Business level (TOEIC 700 or above)
• Ability to quickly adapt to changing priorities and circumstances
• A willingness to question the status quo and think critically
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to express ideas clearly
• Willingness to learn necessary domain knowledge and skills
• Understanding DevOps/DevSecOps

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience working in a financial institution, especially a bank or fintech company
• Basic knowledge of accounting or double-entry bookkeeping
• Knowledge of CCPs and settlement mechanisms
• Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines from development to production in the cloud
