It develops, manufactures, and sells connectors, sensors, switches, antennas, and cable assemblies for automotive, industrial, medical, communications, and energy markets, enabling reliable data, signal, and power connectivity across critical applications.

Responsibilities

In the manufacture of electronic components, mainly for the automotive industry in the Japan/ASEAN region, you will be responsible for the entire process of parts and material procurement and cost reduction activities, and will work with other departments such as product technology, manufacturing technology, quality, production planning, and in-house factories to contribute to ensuring profits and providing service to customers through procurement activities that are balanced in terms of quality, technology, cost, and delivery time.
Main responsibilities:

• Procurement of production maintenance, ancillary equipment, and consumables at the factory.
• Plan/execute mid- to long-term supplier strategies and commodity strategies to optimize production locations, establish supply chain management, and contribute to improving profits.
• Work with related departments in the company to plan and promote/manage progress of cost improvement activities.
• Conduct appropriate procurement activities at a global level by sharing information and strengthening cooperation with global teams.

Requirements

Minimum requirements:

• Education: University graduate or above
• Language skills
  • Japanese - Native level (able to have business conversations and create documents)
  • English - Intermediate level or above (recommended TOEIC score of 600 or above, or equivalent ability)
• PC skills (Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Power Point) required)
• More than 5 years of practical experience in purchasing/procurement in the manufacturing industry (improved products such as automotive parts/electrical/electronic/machinery)
• Experience in leading purchasing/procurement work related to new product development projects and cost improvement activities for existing products
• Experience in interacting with mass production factories in Japan and overseas
• Confident in communication in negotiations/negotiations and adjustments with internal and external stakeholders (related departments, suppliers, customers, etc.)
• Able to involve related departments within the company and actively promote projects in a cooperative manner (cheerfulness, energy, tenacity, cooperation)
• Experience in organizational management, including training team members
• Able to communicate with overseas parties

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience in purchasing/procurement work in the automotive industry or automotive electronic parts manufacturer (Tier 1, 2)
• Experience at a connector manufacturer regardless of industry
• Experience using SAP
• Experience purchasing market-based products
