Responsibilities
To develop and execute on all strategic and supply chain initiatives relating to logistics including optimization of costs, cash flow and service levels, network planning, process improvements within Japan.
The roll will also drive best in building and sustaining collaboration with key logistics service provider throughout Japan.

Dimensions of Function:
Purchasing volume of JPY 4"6 in logistics spend, across sea, air, ground and warehouse cost. To source, negotiate and develop strategies to manage the spend in logistics with the end result of savings generation in accordance to the reporting and controlling guideline, without compromising on quality or deliverables. This function reports into the direct material head. This function will be assigned two temporary staff to manage (people management skills required)

* Lead logistic strategy renewal and execution within internal stakeholders. Provide guidance and insights to business lines/internal customers over logistics cost development and impact.(Sea, Air, Truck, Parcel, Warehouse, etc.)

* Accountable over the performance of suppliers by setting & monitoring KPIs and supplier development. Ensure suppliers are evaluated according to internal quality and evaluation guidelines and documentation retained and filed properly. Ensure suppliers are covered with a framework agreement where company risks are protected.

* Work closely and build effective relationships with internal stakeholders (Sales, SCM, CS, etc) as well as the logistic suppliers.

* Savings and relevant KPI
Generate, document and implement savings, e.g. Contribution to Net Income (savings), CNI Plus; plan, monitor and report on relevant KPI to contribute to the success of the business and make results transparent.

* Procurement compliance, governance framework
Ensure procurement compliance is observed in the supplier selection, evaluation & negotiation process. Ensure purchase requisition review is controlled to avoid maverick buying.

* Manage indirect material order processing team by ensuring KPIs are set, and reviewed regularly for optimal performance. Support and guide the team in their daily requirements and act as an interface for end users in case of escalation.
Requirements
  • Strong knowhow in logistics terminologies, Incoterms, regulatory requirements and transportation practices
  • Require strong project management skills and time management in order to keep to delivery commitment to customer and turnaround time
  • Can work independently and proactively with minimum supervision
  • Strong collaboration and networking with cross functional partners
