- Responsibilities

- Manage their strategic EHS programs and provide input into the development and ensure implementation of the Company’s EHS management system
- Serve as Subject Matter Expert and provide professional EHS advice to operational management teams
- Lead North Asia EHS team to ensure the correct implementation and application of the system across all parts of the business including certification to ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 (or equivalent) where required
- Provide support for effectively assessing and controlling risk in the workplace
- Review and approve proposed communications of the company’s EHS policies and associated documentation
- Ensure EHS resources are organized properly to support the business
- Monitor and measure compliance with legal standards and establish effective follow up procedures to ensure any risks/deficits are addressed
- Be a member of local compliance committee as a Subject Matter Expert of Operations
- Identify EHS training and development needs
- Ensure delivery of awareness training covering a variety of specialized technical topics
- Ensure EHS audits are conducted, and corrective action taken as needed
- Lead EHS committee meetings and participate in management meetings
- Present at meetings to ensure all attendees receive up to date information on existing EHS arrangements and any legal and policy changes
- Carry out detailed investigations for more serious incidents in the workplace and draft appropriate reports
- Assess all contractors’ processes and procedures to verify they meet the company’s EHS standards and that their performance is measured against agreed targets
- Requirements

- University graduate with 8-12 years related experience and or a combination of experience and education
- Minimum experience of 10 years in leading EHS team in multi-national company
- Extensive knowledge of environmental regulations and policies
- Experience as people manager
- Business level fluency in English & native level fluency in Japanese
- Frequency of job changes: up to 3 times is preferred
