Join a Leading SCM Team as a Strategic Logistics Senior Manager! Drive Operational Excellence and Digital Transformation with Flexible Work Arrangements (Friday Remote).
General Function:Reporting to the SCM Director, the Strategic Logistics Senior Manager will work with Warehousing and Transportation Teams to drive operational and customer excellence, implementing change and Continuous Improvement (CI) across Japan's order fulfillment network. Using LEAN and CI principles, they will ensure sustainable performance optimization in delivery, performance visibility, logistics data management, cost, and 3PL management.
Key tasks and strategic accountability:The Strategic Logistics Senior Manager will spend most of their time in the warehouse and transportation environment, focusing on developing capabilities and improving operational performance through the Cost to Win (CTW) initiative. They will ensure all warehouses have a 3-year funnel, deliver annual CI impact, and mentor warehouse supervisors and logistics data engineers. The role involves close collaboration with SCM managers, finance, category managers, and other CTW leadership. Responsibilities include shaping and deploying the Excellence roadmap, coordinating Kaizen events, reviewing KPIs, coaching logistics associates, and conducting Zero Loss Workshops. They will also help shape the Logistics Digital Shift roadmap, develop Power BI reports, and ensure data accuracy.
Sphere of influence:The manager influences the development and execution of warehouse and transportation plans, contributes to strategy development, and provides input into key business decisions and resource planning.
Impact on results:They are accountable for achieving cost-to-win performance on operational efficiency, key operational goals including 3PL performance, and maintaining and optimizing the loss landscape and multi-year cost-to-win project pipeline. Their decisions have a significant impact on strategy execution, human capital, and budgeted resources.

Requirements
  • Demonstrates a specific and advanced set of skills in leading the application of one or more areas of Operational Excellence / LEAN production.
  • Demonstrates a specific and advanced set of skills in leading the application of Power BI for Logistics reporting.
  • Experience with digital transformations in Logistics. ex) Python, Power BI, Power Automate, Copilot, etc.
  • Demonstrates expertise in problem solving, as well as training and coaching others.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or bachelor’s degree in computer science
  • Previous experience in implementing, and strong knowledge of, Lean and Six Sigma business systems. Six sigma black belt certification preferred.
  • Demonstrated passion for customer centricity and operational excellence.
  • Demonstrates expertise logistics process, ERP and WMS processing.
  • Demonstrates expertise 3PL management.
  • Excellent understanding of the interaction between operational excellence and customer service
  • Excellent and effective verbal and written communication skills with people at all levels in Japanese and English
  • Strong track record in project or program management 
  • Experience of working in a multi-site and multi-cultural environment
  • Experience of working in medical device industry preferred.
