- Responsibilities

- Develop the review, tracking and cataloguing of Developer/Producer/Investor Landscape and ecosystem
- Lead, manage projects to procure Renewable Energy Source via Long-Term Power Purchase Agreement
- Prepare Requests for Proposal with communication with internal commercial team
- Manage Tender process including identification of potential developers/IPPs, recommendation of selected developers/IPPs including day-to-day communication with developers/IPPs and internal commercial team
- Curate and manage the review and research of relevant commercial, technical, regulatory energy market developments
- Own the function of understanding of Japanese wholesale energy markets and the components shaping their evolution (Marginal price, Carbon and capacity markets, supply, demand, generation stack, transmission, storage, generation build-out and cannibalisation)
- Maintaining function knowledge of Renewable Energy market trends, opportunities and new technologies and applying an analytical lens and viewpoint.
- Strong understanding of trends in the Non-Fossil Certificate (NFC) and other Japanese Environmental Attribute Certificates (EAC)s and how they relate to Power Purchase agreements.
- Translate and consolidate research and analysis into clear visualisation or stories
- Support the operational delivery team(s) supporting execution of Customer mandates through providing base / input research
- Support customer mandates/programs via provision of markets/developer insight and market expertise
- Continually work with cross-functional and cross-geographic teams collaboratively for optimal success
- Conduct regular meetings and engagement with the developers/IPPs
- Requirements

- At least 5 years of energy or renewable energy experience (solar PV, onshore or offshore wind and other technologies).
- Technical understanding of energy systems and renewable energy technologies
- Understanding of Japan power market mechanics, pricing and hedging behaviors, market actors and grid and permitting dynamics
- Modest Knowledge of Japan Electric Power Exchange (JEPX) and the wholesale power market
- Broad understanding of renewable energy incentive and regulatory structures in Japan.
- Good Knowledge of Long-Term Power Purchase Agreements for both Offsite and Onsite Power Generation in Japan.
- Excellent research skills and ability to synthesize information and logically structure findings
- Strong problem-solving, mathematical, financial modeling and organizational skills
- Business and financial acumen plus driven on customer-service orientation
- Effective communications skills (written, verbal and presentation)
- Effective team player who excels at performing in a collaborative environment
- Having entrepreneur mindset, motivated / energized attitude to act and try something new proactively
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence various stakeholders through in-person and online meetings and presentations
- Fluent Japanese and Business Level English communication ability
