Our client is a French multinational holding and conglomerate specializing in luxury goods.
Responsibilities
It is an exciting time to join the business as we go through a period of rapid growth. The BPC Manager will be part of the Finance team that oversees all business planning and control for Japan and will be the main partner for all departments related to retail operations, gross margin and store planning. The mission is triple: power up internal control and risk management, improve visibility on the margin and CAPEX, and ramp up the support to business operations. The position requires a high level of critical thinking and excellent organization skills, as the BPC Manager must keep up with the company’s expansion and the consequent pressing need for new rules and processes. It also requires good diplomacy and negotiation skills, forthe BPC Manager will switch hats between support and control regularly.This role will report directly to the Finance Director, initially.
Main responsibilities:
  • Retail Control
    • Act as the main Finance Business Partner for the stores and Retail Operations, working closely with the Managers
    • Advise and support the stores in their operations and requests, keeping an eye on business and security risks
    • Implement and enforce internal control processes as needed, in collaboration with other stakeholders
  • Margin Planning & Control
    • Act as the main Finance Business Partner for Logistics and Merchandising, working closely with the Directors
    • Forecast, review and report periodically the stock situation and markups by product category by season
    • Provide regular gross margin analyses to help understand the performance and pilot the business
  • Store Planning & Control
    • Act as the main Finance Business Partner for Store Planning, working closely with the Manager
    • Prepare and improve PL analyses for network projects such as store openings, relocations or expansions
    • Plan, track and report the CAPEX spending, and manage the store lease contracts
  • Other responsibilities
    • Plan and control expenses, manage accruals and provisions for all partner departments
    • Propose, enforce and perform internal control and audit procedures as requested
    • Perform other ad hoc analyses, reports and projects as requested
Requirements
Minimum requirements:
  • 3+ years of working experience in FP&A, internal control, audit or risk management, preferably in retail industry
  • Business fluent in English, excellent communication in written & spoken Japanese
  • University degree in Finance, Accounting or STEM
  • Strong mastery of Microsoft Excel
  • Detail oriented with excellent organization and critical thinking skills
  • Able to perform in a high-pressure/time-sensitive environment

Preferred qualifications:
  • Knowledge of CEGID is a plus
  • CPA is a plus
  • French or Spanish is a plus
