Responsibilities: Main responsibilities:
The incumbent works under the direct supervision of the Director, APAC Accounting and works closely with the other Regional Accounting Leaders in APAC, Japan Production Controller, Japan FP&A Team, Corporate functional Teams, and CCO Leadership Team.
Learns and understands the company's reporting structure as this is necessary due to the many intercompany relationships between the multiple sites and the numerous legal entities.
Understand the Product Groups/Commercial/Supply Chain/Corporate Pillars and legal entities structure to prepare the actuals data necessary for the monthly financial and management reporting.
Reviews statements of monthly financial data including income statement and balance sheet. Analyzes financial results as compared to monthly objectives and prior year results.
Reviews the financial performance measurements within the Japan CCO, while ensuring financial performance reporting and tax reporting is accurate, timely, and meets the constantly changing needs of the Company. Reporting must be in compliance with Company Accounting Policies, US GAAP, and local statutory requirements.
Ensures that the proper procedures, policies and controls for the Japan CCO are in place as designed in order to maintain strong internal controls and conducts continuous education of accounting personnel so that there is compliance with these requirements.
Accountable for the safe keeping and maintenance of the company’s assets through balance sheet integrity and a proper control environment.
Supports and collaborates with various FP&A personnel pertaining to Budgets and Forecast activities and proactively brings situations and variances to the appropriate personnel for further review.
Prepares special financial requests and analysis and communicates potential problem areas. Conducts local and regional financial reviews/analysis as assigned.
Owner of the local ERP system and associated projects and changes. Leads the AX Implementation and consolidation of the local entity books on the common ERP platform.
Collaborates with Japan HR Leader to continually review that technically qualified personnel are placed in all positions that report to this role and has training and development programs available to perform the assigned duties correctly. Employs sound talent and performance management practices to lead, develop and train a team of finance associates.
Proactively implements improvements to the internal processes within Japan CCO Accounting Team. This includes execution of process improvement initiatives, initiating open dialogue with other functional departments in order to create efficiencies and streamline processes and procedures.
Overall accountable for compliance with the local regulatory requirements relating to tax, statutory filings, local GAAP audit, etc.
Manages all SOX processes and testing plans for the Japan entities. Implements all necessary legal entity controls, including approval matrices.
Liaises with internal and external auditors on all requests.
Ensures strong working relationships with relevant corporate departments including Tax and Treasury and follows guidance and directives.
Assists in other projects as assigned by the Director, APAC Accounting.

Responsibilities: Responsible for monthly closing of activities including calculation of material cost. Performing of monthly Inventory analysis with actual cost analysis. Responsible for updating monthly reporting data to head office tools (BPC) while making various local management reports. Strong support and mentor to local sales and production team to communicate sales and cogs details.
Main tasks and responsibilities
Ensure health and safety
Perform accurate monthly closing in SAP CO/PS module by doing closing procedures
Perform detailed analysis in a timely manner for actual vs plan (budget/forecast/business plan) vs previous year for use by local management and for submission to Headquarter, in particular:Monitors and Provide sales analysis on monthly basis, based on variances from budget and forecasts. Monitors and provides analysis of order backlog.
Analyze and explain the changes in Cost of Goods sold and gross margin by product line.
Prepares inventory analysis on monthly basis including inventory provisions for use by local management and for submission to Corporate.
Works with Production Planning to forecast inventory levels and provides the related analysis.
