Responsibilities
As a Japan Project Manager, you are responsible for an assigned portfolio of Projects (Orders) with significant technical complexity and commercial risk. This position is accountable for project execution, on-time delivery, profit and loss & customer satisfaction. As a Japan Project Manager, you will be responsible for the following.
Main responsibilities:
  • Meeting the requirements of Quality, Health, Safety & Environment rules and integrity, and Compliance.
  • Practicing formal Project Manager methodology using documented tools/processes/procedures for a project portfolio
  • Owning the Customer relationship to understand their perspective and needs.
  • Executing Project Manager responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
    • Receiving, analyzing and accepting orders from the ITO-OTR handoff
    • Conducting cross functional, internal kick-off meetings to launch the execution of the order
    • Developing and maintaining robust project plans with cross functional OTR support team (Engineering, Procurement, Sourcing, Planning, Manufacturing, Logistics, Finance, Services as required) that meet customer and business objective
    • Negotiating and managing change orders with the Customer by identifying opportunities to add customer value and bring incremental revenue to the company with optimized project contribution margin
    • Monitoring & acting on order financial performance to maintain/improve the as-sold contribution margin
Requirements
Minimum requirements:
  • Be graduated in mechanics or equivalent from an accredited university.
  • Have at least 3 to 5 years of experience in project management and proven records of working in engineering or heavy industries
  • Have strong oral and written communication skills in Japanese.
  • Have business level of oral and written communication skills in English.

Preferred qualifications:
  • Have strong business and financial acumen including ERP experience is preferred.
  • Have Six Sigma Green Belt training OR equivalent Quality Training is preferred.
