Responsibilities
  • Operation Supervisor role for Atsugi Distribution, with responsibility for a team of distribution and 3PL partner
- Translate Atsugi distribute strategies into tangible, execution-ready initiatives, and drive implementation with Atsugi Operation Manager.
  • Directs and manages 3PL operation through continuous communication with both 3PL and internal stakeholders.
  • Perform responsibility and accountability for the operational KPI’s of the Atsugi distribution center and uses them as the key measure of improving the performance of the team.
- Coordinate daily operations, required to execute daily outbound, inbound and storage operation in timely manner. Take a lead, managing daily operation processes deployed in 3PL operation.
- Ensures the operation of the 3PL providers are optimized to the best benefit of Life Science. Evaluate 3PL performance to verify that the business needs are being met.
  • Provide the best customer support for Commercial and Business team in the organization. Understands customer needs and requirements, then identify action to take.
  • Point of contact from Commercial and Business team in the daily operation. Understand customer needs and demands and meet their expectation.
- Coordinate deliveries required to apply the exceptional handling process.
- Initiate daily and monthly operation reports, and communicate to external and internal customers effectively and timely manner.
- Develop/modify processes according to customer needs and demands, in accordance with Quality and EHS policy.
  • Lead to install Operational Excellence into Atsugi warehouse operation, following Operational Excellence guideline and procedure. 
- Drives a continuous improvement philosophy within the team.
- Plan improvement projects under your initiatives, involving the internal stakeholders and 3PL, then coordinate deploying them with 3PL in the operation field.
- Optimize cost structures in the element of warehouse operation and transportation.
- Lead to foster a culture of Quality & EHS compliance by operating within guidelines and procedures, leading by example, and focusing on risk assessment & elimination.
  • Communicates effectively across Japan and APAC functions.
- Point of contact, from relevant functions in APAC. Provide required information in the timely manner.
Requirements
  • Equal of bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, or related field is preferable.
  • Minumum 3 years’ 3PL operation and vendor management experience or 5 years’ experience in the warehouse operation, particular in logistics, and inventory management and transport experience.
  • Operational Experience in a Distribution Center or in Chemical Manufacturing (Experience of working on Process Improvement projects through a Lean or Six Sigma approach) will be strong benefit.
  • Project management experience in the warehouse operation level is mandatory requirement.
  • People management skill is required; Ability to oversee the team members and lead clear direction (the experience of the team leader is ideal.)
  • Experience in international quality systems (Six Sigma, TQM, QA, GMP, ISO 9001) .
  • Chemical and dangerous goods warehouse experience is not must, but strong advantage.
  • Strong expectation working in the multicultural organization. Higher adaptability and flexibility for the workplace environment.
  • Communication and interpersonal skills in Japanese and English
  • Japanese language: Advance or native level. English: Business level (Preferable). 
  • Strong interest and mind-set, absorbing extra and new knowledge.
  • Strong interest to maximize the business efficiency, thru the digitalization with the desk-top apps used. Eager to obtain the up-to-date digital knowledge.
  • Willingness to apply methodology for problem solving actions in the daily operation and project, as well as the local digitalization actions. (i.e., 6 Sigma)
  • Coordination and inter-personal communication capability, leading to maximize the team potential. Excellent support for all stakeholders.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat, advanced Excel skills. Business level system literacy - SAP/WMS.
  • Hands-on planning and execution, without waiting for directions from the upper management.
  • Commute to the work location by your own car (Kanagawa-pref.)
