Our Client is a global footwear company with a portfolio of different brands.
Responsibilities
Manages and executes trade activities to import and export shipments. Once a purchase order (PO) has been issued to the factory, you will be responsible for monitoring the production schedule, arranging shipment from the factory to the Japanese port, managing customs clearance and arranging shipment from the Japanese port to the Japan warehouse.Also support and manage other overseas logistics including samples and other equipment's import and export.Upon arrival at local DC, work with Supply Planning team, Quality Assurance team, and 3PL to plan and manage internal quality inspection schedule to meet target dates for outbound shipment.Responsible for conducting audits, writing reports of findings and organizing all documentation. Responsible for ensuring that all imports and exports comply with local and international regulatory requirements and liaising regularly with customs and government officials as required.Other compliance duties include maintaining accurate Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) codes for each of our products and following regulatory requirements for importation.Work to support a manager to design the entire inbound logistics roadmap, execute it and measure its performance.
Main responsibilities:
  • Import and administration (35%)
    • Work with team and external vendors to deliver, track and report status of goods import from factory to local destinations.
    • Report performance includes transportation lead time and freight cost and execute analysis.
    • Execute payment process in accurate and timely manner with clear future visibility of cash requirement to finance team.
  • Customs clearance administration (15%)
    • Maintain accurate Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) codes by following regulatory requirements for importation.
    • Correct and prepare all required documents and information for custom declaration.
    • And manage necessary TQ quality and execute TQ application process based on company needs.
  • Scheduling inhouse Quality inspection (20%)
    • Set and align target date for product’s shipment per PO with Supply planning team.
    • Then work with QA manager and 3PL to schedule inhouse quality inspection.
    • It also selects priority orders and handles urgent orders based on the inbound schedule and target dates for shipments.
  • Projects (20%)
    • Support RFP to evaluate and select external vendors for freight forwarding and customs brokerage service provider.
    • Also, enhance Nexus and other systems usage and improve operation process’ efficiency.
    • And need to respond to internal and external of group audits including customs post audit.
    • Assist other projects when necessary.
  • Support (10%)
    • Support and manage other overseas logistics include samples and other equipment’s import and export. And provide support for other initiatives
Requirements
Minimum requirements:
  • 5+ years’ experience in import business & custom clearance experience (Preferred: Footwear, Apparel)
  • Experience working effectively in complex global organizations, satisfying the needs of diverse constituents, and often working under the pressure of competing and sometimes conflicting priorities.
  • Ability to adapt to different cultures, with a versatile work style and disposition.
  • Proficient written and verbal communications skills in Japanese and English.
  • Ability to effectively prepare and present information and respond to questions from supervisor and local related parties.
