- Responsibilities

SCM Strategy and policy:
- Design and drive strategy to achieve supply chain goals of customer service levels, supply chain cost, distributor inventory as well as quality goals.
- Manage operational efficiency at local copackers including capacity planning and the assets
- Business partnering with Management team to achieve sales and profit goals
- Strategic collaboration with distributors on Service, cost, inventory, waste reduction
- Partnership with their owned plants in Asia on Japan supply requirements, long range plans, quality and process improvements
- Own the supply chain budget for fiscal, be involved in country yearly sales target setting process and KPIs
- Lead supply chain network optimization projects including sourcing location changes from one country to another
- In conjunction with MD, Quality & Operations, Marketing and Trade Marketing team deliver overall plan objectives Work together with local marketing team & the factories for timely management of NPD.
- Ensure customer order fulfillment on time and in full
- Ensure logistics lead times from factory to Japan are in line with customer expectation
- Review and approve import requirements , modes of transport and spends
- Sign off on urgent shipments or airfreight, ensure alignment of management team and distributors
- Design and drive S&OP process with Japan management team and collaborative forecasting with Japan distributors, improve forecast accuracy
- Review and approve local co-packing production and material plans with suppliers
- Manage communication around production constraints, allocation management
- Work together with Customer Service/Supply Chain teams of their factories, local co-packers & RM/PM suppliers to coordinate supply chain (forecasting, ordering, production planning, shipments, inventory)
- Requirements

- University degree
- 10 years+ of relevant Supply Chain management in leading consumer packaged goods (preferably multinational) companies within Japan.
- NPD experiences such as recipe, packaging, palletisation development, & knowledge of regulatory from R&D point of view
- Exposure to manufacturing environment preferred, either in operations or in production planning/line scheduling
- 3 years experience in handling quality issues
- Ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, especially distributor, influence without positional power with other functions
- Ability to lead and drive initiatives, work independently with minimum supervision
- Ability to communicate effectively with different levels within the organisation both in English and Japanese, spoken and written
- Attention to detail, ability to handle complexity and large volumes of data/information, strong analytical skills
- Flexible and can adapt quickly to changes in business context
- Basic understanding of manufacturing processes, equipment types and line capabilities
- Clear understanding of Japan consumer quality requirements
