Responsibilities

Control team’s role and responsibility is mainly reporting, compliance, and working capital management.

• Reporting (Monthly closing, JOB management and AR/WIP management, and Other irregular matters issues with financial impact)
• Compliance (Audit - Internal / External / Clients, Process improvement mainly to meet the audit and SPP requirement)
• Working capital (Client payment term management, Vendor payment term management with Procurement Management Department)

This position is reporting to Controller and control team consists of 4 people including this position.
Main responsibilities:

• Perform period end closing based on USGAAP and company Policies and Procedures
• Review key accounts and ensure accounting practice is in compliance with company Standard Policies and Procedures
• Review revenue contract and enforce proper accounting methods per company guidance
• Prepare documentation of key revenue transactions by using company reporting tool (English)
• Collaborate and support preparation of company reporting schedules in Hyperion
• Perform monthly reconciliation of key accounts
• Assist Regional / Global Control Team in various inquiries and reporting requirements
• Collaborate effectively with FP&A team and support ad-hoc projects
• Support Controller for various ad-hoc projects
• Support Controller during a site visit by Regional Control Team and Internal/External Audits
• Work with various stakeholder to resolve internal/external audit issues
• Manage relationship with company Finance Department and Regional Control Team

Requirements

Minimum requirements:

• 5+ years of Accounting/Finance experience with exposure to general accounting and revenue recognition
• Good command of business level English (read and write) is required and native level Japanese (oral and written) is required
• Experience in MNC, connecting local stakeholders and global/regional stakeholders
• Ability to lead and collaborate others without supervision to move internal and external teams towards achieving goals that support Agency’s key strategic objectives
• Demonstrated experience improving, developing and implementing new processes
• Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively present ideas and influence others that achieve desired results
• Strong analytical and computer skills
• Works effectively across functions as a team player
• Successful experience in fast-paced team environment
• Highly organized with a strong attention to detail, clarity, accuracy and conciseness
• Individuals must demonstrate the ability to interact successfully in a dynamic and culturally diverse workplace

Preferred qualifications:

• US CPA (strongly preferred) or Japan CPA (preferred)
• Experience with SAP is a plus
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent is strongly preferred
• Audit experience as auditor (internal / external) is a plus
• Prior experience with internal control requirements, including a strong understanding of an effective and efficient internal control environment and auditing experience, is a big plus
• Experience in implementation of ERP system a plus
