They also collaborate with other companies, organizations, and government agencies in a joint effort to formulate guidelines and laws for responsible space exploration and use.
Responsibilities
  • Design and development of electronic devices and electronic control devices for satellites, especially vision sensors used in GNC, computer vision, and robotics 
  • Design and analysis of interfaces and specifications of electronic devices and electronic control devices
  • Manage budgets and resources (mass, power, data resources) of electronics and control units
  • Technical coordination with subsystem and system designers 
  • Preparation of specifications for electronic equipment and electronic control equipment 
  • Plan, prepare and conduct electrical tests of electronic equipment, electronic control units and subsystems
  • Equipment-level environmental tests such as vibration, thermal-vacuum, thermal-cyclic, electrical, and radiological tests 
  • Interface tests with other subsystems
  • Evaluate and validate test results
  • Carry out technical adjustments regarding the suppliers of electronic equipment and electronic control units, manufacturers and their specifications.
  • Carry out technical coordination and progress management with design subcontractors of electronic devices and electronic control devices
  • Manage ICD (Interface Control Documents) between electronic devices and subsystems
Requirements
  • At least 5 years of experience as an electrical engineer
  • Basic knowledge of electrical system design (Satellite electrical systems, automobile electrical and electrical systems, medical equipment electrical systems, etc.)
  • Knowledge of harness design and manufacturing (Harness design for satellites, automobiles, medical equipment, office equipment, etc.)
  • Knowledge of cables, harnesses and connectors
  • Basic knowledge of mechanical design
  • Experience with any of the following
- Experience in digital device/circuit design and analysis- Experience in analog equipment/circuit design and analysis- Experience in design and analysis of mixed digital-analog equipment and circuits
  • Basic knowledge of embedded software
  • Early detection of problems, identification of causes, and proposal and implementation of solutions
  • English proficiency of TOEIC score of 600 or higher
Desirable skills:
  • Experience in designing, developing, and evaluating systems using sensors (optical, radar, LiDAR)
  • Experience in developing electronic control units with implemented processors
  • Knowledge of FMEA (Failure Mechanism and Effects Analysis) and FTA (Failure Tree Analysis)
  • Circuit simulation using SPICE
  • Data analysis using scripting languages such as Matlab and Python
  • Knowledge of MIL (United States Military Standard) and ESA (European Space Agency Standard). In particular, it is desirable to have knowledge of MIL cable standards and derating standards.
  • Basic knowledge of EMC (electromagnetic compatibility)
