The Marketing Director is a new role, and will lead the strategic planning, execution, and performance management of all marketing initiatives in Japan. This individual will be responsible for driving market share growth,building our brand with KoLs and decision makers, designing and launching new products and services, and supporting commercial success in collaboration with sales, clinical, and service delivery teams. This role requires a strong mix of strategic thinking, people leadership, medical marketing acumen, and hands-on execution.
Main responsibilities:- Marketing Strategy & Execution
- Develop and implement annual and long-term marketing strategies aligned with corporate goals and local market dynamics.
- Own the product marketing lifecycle, including product positioning, value proposition, pricing, messaging, and segmentation.
- Lead local marketing campaigns to raise awareness of sleep apnea and chronic respiratory disease and drive diagnosis and treatment adoption.
- Plan and execute product launches, promotions, digital programs, and KOL engagement strategies.
- Team Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Manage and mentor a team of clinical and market engagement specialists.
- Work closely with clinical teams, sales, and service delivery functions to align messaging, training, and go-to-market strategies.
- Market Intelligence & Analytics
- Monitor and analyze market trends, competitive activity, customer insights, and reimbursement policy changes.
- Own the marketing budget and deliver ROI-driven planning, reporting, and optimization.
- Present insights and recommendations to executive leadership regularly.
- Stakeholder Engagement
- Build relationships with KoLs healthcare professionals, sleep clinics, respiratory therapists, and academic institutions.
- Represent the company at medical congresses, trade shows, and industry forums.
- Support distributor and channel partner enablement when relevant.

Minimum requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, life sciences, or a related field (MBA preferred).
- 10+ years of marketing experience in the healthcare, medical device, or pharmaceutical sectors.
- Proven track record of success in launching and marketing medical devices or services in Japan.
- Strong understanding of the Japanese healthcare system, reimbursement pathways, and regulatory landscape.
- Experience managing teams and working in matrix or multinational environments.
- Native-level Japanese and business-level English communication skills.
- Analytical mindset with experience using data to drive decision
