業務内容

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Country Manager with a strong engineering background to lead our operations in Japan. The role requires experience in managing small-scale manufacturing and strong P&L responsibility at the director or managing director level. The successful candidate will also have experience in international stakeholder management and the ability to navigate and bridge Japanese and European business cultures.
Main responsibilities:Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage the country operations, ensuring alignment with the company’s strategic goals and objectives.
• Oversee the technical aspects of product development and manufacturing supply chain, quality, ensuring high-quality standards.
• Evaluate and challenge technical decisions to ensure the implementation of optimal solutions.
• Manage small-scale manufacturing operations (100-300 units per year), focusing on efficiency and quality control.
• Hold P&L responsibility, driving financial performance and ensuring budgetary compliance.
• Foster and maintain strong relationships with international stakeholders, including partners, suppliers, and customers.
• Bridge the cultural and business practices between Japanese and European stakeholders to facilitate smooth operations.
• Develop and implement strategic plans to drive business growth and market expansion.
• Lead and mentor a diverse team, fostering a positive and productive work environment.

Minimum requirements:

• Strong engineering background: Must be able to understand technical aspects well enough to ask the right questions; to evaluate and challenge technical decisions; to judge good solutions from poor ones.
• Electrical engineering, software engineering, or mechanical engineering acceptable.
• Management of small-scale manufacturing (100-300 units per year) rather than mass production.
• P&L responsibility experience at director or managing director level; don't necessarily need previous CEO experience if other qualifications are strong.
• International stakeholder management.
• Being able to bridge Japanese and European business cultures.
• Advanced Business English capability 

Preferred qualifications:

• Analytical device industry ideal but not mandatory, but products containing electronics, measuring elements, and software components preferred.
