- Responsibilities

The Technical IT Lead is responsible for the internal system architecture, application development, and management and optimization of the data platform. You will dotted report to the US Engineering & Architecture team, and ensure alignment with the global IT architecture strategy and provide technical solutions that meet business needs.
Main responsibilities:- Design, develop, and maintain internal system architecture.
- Ensure alignment with the global architecture strategy.
- Lead and manage internal business application development projects - Effectively lead teams through project structuring, problem definition, issue identification and resolution development using problem solving principles and past experiences.
- Collaborate with development engineers on application development, troubleshooting, and support internal business applications (review code, design, and operational changes; troubleshoot and resolve technical issues). Internal business applications: D365 Finance and Operations (ERP – C#/X++/SQL), D365 Commerce/Retail (C#, JavaScript/TypeScript), PTC FlexPLM (PLM – Java/JavaScript), custom integrations (generally: C#, Java, SQL, and/or JavaScript), and more.
- Lead the construction and maintenance of Japan’s data platform in collaboration with the US IT team (lead the migration of the existing data warehouse to the global data platform and optimize system integration and reporting).
- Lead the planning and implementation of in-house application development.
- Collaborate and share knowledge with other technical teams, both inside Patagonia and externally with vendors/support. Confluence is used for documentation. Azure DevOps is used for our Git repo and sprint planning..
- Coordinate with business analysts, PMO, and infrastructure teams.
- Develop and manage the performance of team members.
- Requirements

Minimum requirements:
- Self-start, studious attitude required; new tools, frameworks, and languages will be added to our stack over time
- 5+ years of practical experience in IT architecture, application development, and data platforms.
- 4+ years programming experience in JavaScript, Java, C#, X++ or related object-oriented programming language. Experience with developing and troubleshooting parallel applications is desirable.
- Experience with source control tools, preferably distributed source control like Git or Mercurial
- College degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field and/or equivalent experience.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, team player with a commitment to success.
- Proven experience working on long-term projects and day-to-day program maintenance responsibilities.
- Ability to multi-task and stay organized in a dynamic work environment, often with multiple project deadlines.
- Comfortable with team-based work structure; ability to remain flexible to change within the work environment and scope of responsibility.
- Demonstrates initiative (self-starter); is conscientious and provides complete follow-through on areas of responsibility.
- Experience with tools for development, profiling, and debugging of systems required. Ex. Visual Studio (or any IDE), SQL Server Management Studio (or equiv.)
- Strong language skill (English and Japanese) to co-work globally.
Preferred qualifications:- Microsoft D365FO (or AX) experience a plus.
- Experience with Agile development or as a Scrum Master is preferred.
- Experience with application development within a CI/CD environment is preferred.
- Knowledge of SQL and relational database structures desirable.
- Business system development experience desirable: CRM, ERP, PLM, etc.
