- Initial study of structural architecture and layout.
- Perform an initial sizing analysis (structural analysis including finite element modeling).
- Structural design takes into account cost, mass, and other system requirements, as well as manufacturing, assembly, and operability, and collaborates with other teams to realize optimal solutions for the system.
- Perform detailed FEM analysis and design to ensure that the spacecraft structure contains onboard equipment, subsystems, and payloads within their respective certified environmental conditions.
- Develop structural development and verification plans and procedures to demonstrate compliance with their spacecraft requirements, including the development of mechanical tests, measurements, and alignment plans.
- If necessary, work with launch service providers to demonstrate suitability for launch vehicle requirements and environmental conditions.
