Responsibilities

Nature and aim of the positionThis is a management position reporting to the VP Accounting & Statutory Reporting • Finance - Accounting & Administration to ensure appropriate control over local financial and accounting related operations in cooperation with the central accounting team in the group. The Finance Manager is also in charge to ensure compliance with group and local policies, provides local support on legal (contractual obligations), tax matters and statutory reporting, provide local FP&A services and is responsible for accurate reporting of the company’s financial position to Management for 2 legal units.
Main duties and responsibilities

• Monthly management and local reporting according to IFRS within set deadlines and in accordance with the group Corporate Finance Manual (CFM);
• Coordination of corporate legal and accounting books updates with the central accounting team in Europe and the local accounting firm.
• Establish and enforce proper local accounting methods, policies and principles;
• Coordinate and complete annual audits;
• Lead changes, improve systems and procedures and initiate corrective actions;
• Support with finance expertise in local projects to ensure compliance with local law and regulations and proper system set up;
• Establish and maintain fiscal files and records to document transactions;
• Responsible for local Finance and Administration budget;
• Support local financial management team for budget and forecasting
• Continued innovation to develop the tools that will achieve best practice in all operation and other admin related activities with the aim to increase efficiency and costs saving;
• Local Tax, VAT and WHT reporting;
• Support the CMD and local functions in business analysis, business cases and decision making
• Managing a local team of 2 persons;
• All other local administration related matters.

• Reporting:
  • Solid line: VP Accounting & Statutory Reporting
  • Dotted line: Country Managing Director;
• Cooperates to:
  • Administration shared service centre in APAC and Vienna;
  • Local Management: Commercial, Marketing, Refund Operations, Merchant Services and Technology.

Specific skills and knowledge

• Experienced people manager, used to manage a team or department, including interviewing, coaching, and building development plans;
• Strong accounting knowledge and experience;
• Experience on IFRS accounting and reporting;
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail a must;
• SOX experience is a plus
• Team player with social competence;
• Ability to multitask and meet deadlines;
• Work independently to complete assignments;
• Strong excel skills;
• Ability to function in a fast-paced environment
• MS Office knowledge;
• English language skills (oral & written) on the advanced level TOEIC 850

Education and qualifications

• University degree on Economics, Accounting and or Finance;
• Master’s degree would be a plus;
• MBA/USCPA preferred.
• Highly skilled Finance candidates required;
• At least 7 years’ work experience in similar position within multinational companies;
• Used to work in international environments with matrix organizations;
• Proved experience of local statutory accounting is a must;
• Able to work under pressure;
• Strong team player;
• Autonomous and independent, goal-oriented and self-motivating personality;
• Organizational skills and the ability to prioritize workload, flexibility, proactivity, strong time management and high analytical working skills are required on top of strong communication, delegation and planning skills;
• Ability to direct & supervise team, projects and processes;
• Consultative approach is a must;
• Project Management skills are nice to have.
• Proficient in Japanese

Experience

• Desirable 7 years’ experience, preferably in multi-national environments with matrix organizations;
• Background in major audit firms (big four) would be a plus.
