Responsibilities

• Position to report to EVP and VP of design and development in Las Vegas corporate office.
• On site field supervision skills are required to be the eyes and ears for their interior design efforts in Osaka.
• Regularly attend design meetings with interior design teams to insure that goals of project are being followed .
• Communicate with their Design leadership project updates, and status and documentation.
• Manage outside consultants in an interior design capacity on project and take accountability for the interior design project scope-of- work.
• Review, organize and coordinate with Interior Design Consultants/AOR in producing and providing content for all project ID documents, from concept presentations to construction documentation.
• Coordinate with project team and consultants to follow schedules and meet required deadlines.
• Provide support for presentations to communicate the interior design concepts and design intent effectively and professionally for a project to property and corporate level executives.
• Interact with Interior Design Consultants for coordination of the following: floor finishes, wall and ceiling finishes, specific design intent, interior architectural details, millwork, window treatments, built-in furnishings, stonework and ceramic tile, decorative/architectural lighting and other materials as required by project scope.
• Review, refine, and verify accuracy of interior specifications prior to issuance.
• Assist the Interior Design Consultants with concerns and provides direction and troubleshooting when issues arise.
• Organize submittals, mockups, prototypes, and shop drawings as necessary to receive reviews and approvals from project design and management leads.
• Validate estimated project budgets and provide guidance to the interior design consultants in collaboration with the Project Management Director that meet project program, budget and timeline.
• Collaborate with consultants to recommend and advise potential alternate design solutions to project team when necessary to meet project goals, functionality schedules and approved budget.
• Coordinate with Property, General Contractor, Purchasing Department and Vendors at pre-production, production, and installation of FF&E specialty items to ensure that the design integrity is maintained.
• Ensure that custom design elements have undergone the proper copyright and licensing processes prior to presentation and procurement.
• Provide on site walks to review interior design construction and installations.
• Create reports to update team of progress, and alert to deviations or conflicts.
• Coordinate required punch walks to ensure final installed spaces meet project goals and expectations prior to turnover.
• Participate in installation supervision for all FF&E and create punchlist comments for purchasing agent coordination.
• Perform other job-related duties and interior design related needs as required.

Requirements

• Bachelor Degree in Interior Design or Interior Architecture program, or equivalent experience Five (5) years of experience in an architectural or interior design organization with emphasis on hospitality design projects.
• Interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with all business contacts.
• Fluent with architectural, engineering and design industry terminology and practices.
• Ability to effectively communicate in Japanese and English, in both oral and written forms.
• Understanding of construction document setup related to ID scope.
• Understanding of FFE/ID specification parameters, Standards and formats.
