Responsibilities

• Lead product definition, specification and requirements phases for sensors, modules, electrical interfaces, data interfaces with the rest of the system
• Collect the thermal, mechanical, electrical, software, scientific and business and operational requirements and optimize the capabilities of the sensors
• Research, design and prototype innovative combinations of vision sensors so that they can be included in the next rover mission architecture
• Create and improve standardized testing environments for lander navigation sensor validation

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, optronics, or equivalent
• In-depth knowledge and 5+ years of experience working with navigation sensors and electrical systems
• On-site navigation sensor testing skill
• Strong communication skills : everybody is expected to share his/her methodology, goals and success criteria before, during and after implementation
• Relocate to Japan is needed.

Preferred Experience:

• Master’s degree or higher
• Space industry, automotive or other high reliability industry or academic experience
• Experience with Camera Serial Interface-2 (CSI-2), MIPI, Ethernet, USB and muxing multiple camera together to one D-PHY (eg: camera bridge chip or FPGA)
• Demonstrated knowledge of camera lenses and filters
• Experience writing drivers for navigation sensors
• Experience with software or hardware video compression techniques or video streaming techniques
• Understanding of spacecraft navigation algorithm design
